How we pick products
What we compare, where the numbers come from, and how we make money from this section.
What we compare
We compare products only on the specs each brand publishes on its own US store. We have not tested these units hands-on, and we don't describe them as if we had. If a brand ever sends us a unit, we'll say so on the page.
When a brand's page doesn't publish a spec, our tables say not listed. We don't estimate it or fill it in from a third-party site.
Why we don't list prices
Prices on these products move often, sometimes daily during sales. Rather than show a number that may already be out of date, every product links to its brand's own page, where you can see the current price. Specs change far less, and each comparison says when we checked them.
No paid placement
Brands can't pay to be included, to be left out, or to change the order. We don't use star ratings, review scores or "best overall" badges. The order of products in a guide follows the guide's own structure, such as battery size.
How we make money here
Some product links may be affiliate links: if you buy through one, the brand may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Those commissions come from product brands, never from electricity suppliers, and they never affect how we rank electricity plans. Until a brand's affiliate program approves us, its links are ordinary links to the brand's store. See our disclosure for the full picture, including our Texas electricity brokerage.
Estimates are labeled
Our calculators use stated assumptions, such as 85% charging efficiency or 80% usable capacity. Those are estimates, not specs, and each one is labeled where it's used. Your own device labels and your Electricity Facts Label always win.
