Questions to try
- "I live in 75201 and use about 1,000 kWh a month. What's the cheapest plan?"
- "Is 14 cents a kilowatt-hour a good rate in Houston?"
- "What's the price to compare in Columbus, Ohio?"
- "I'm in Massachusetts, 02134, what are my options?"
What you get
- Current plans, ranked by price for your utility, at the amount of electricity you use.
- Your utility, found from your ZIP code. Where a ZIP code is served by two utilities, you see both.
- The price to compare, the utility's default rate, in states that publish one. Texas does not.
- Warnings about bill credits. Some plans look cheap only if you use a set amount each month, because a bill credit kicks in at that point. When a low price depends on that, you are told.
Some plans pay FindEnergyRates when you enroll. Those plans are marked, and that never affects how plans are ranked. FindEnergyRates is a licensed broker in Texas (PUCT BR250242). Outside Texas, we only list plans.
Limits
- Each address can make 20 lookups a minute and 300 a day. One question can take two or three lookups.
- Data is refreshed daily, and rates change. Always confirm the rate on the supplier's page before you sign up.
