How do I compare electricity rates?
Enter your ZIP code, or pick your state and utility company above. Plans are listed by price, and you can filter by contract length, renewable content and fees. Each plan links to the supplier's own page to enroll.
What is the price to compare?
In states that publish one, the price to compare is the supply rate your utility charges if you don't choose a supplier. Where we have it, a plan shows how many cents per kWh it is under that rate. Texas has no price to compare.
Why do some rows show the same plan name?
Suppliers price the same plan differently in each utility territory. We show every rate a supplier offers in your state so you can pick the one for your utility.
Are Texas prices comparable with other states?
Not directly. Texas prices are each plan's average price at 1,000 kWh a month from its Electricity Facts Label, with delivery charges and monthly fees included. In other states the rate shown is the supply rate only, and your utility bills its delivery charges separately.
How fresh are the rates?
We collect plans from supplier, marketplace and state-commission listings, usually every day. The plan list above reads the latest data when the page loads and shows the date of the most recent observation. The table of lowest rates below is rebuilt nightly.
